Walking with the Snowman

I was delighted to be offered the opportunity by the same fabulous guys from ‘bee in the City’ to paint a Snowman for the walking with the snowman trail. this trail celebrates the 40th anniversary of the legend, and each Snowman depicts one verse from ‘the twelve days of Christmas’.

I was given ‘Five Gold rings’ and interpreted this as ‘Five Salford rings’ as the snowmen can be found at Media City in manchester. It features a roller chain (which was invented in Salford), a diamond ring (symbolising economic development), a Christmas wreath, a spinning wheel (harking back to the silk spinning days) and a Life ring, just incase Mr Snowman decides to go for a swim in the Quays!

The Trail is live now and maps can be collected from the Lowry.

At the end of the trail the Snowmen will be auctioned off for Children in Need.
